Mrs. Catina M. Smallwood is a native Memphian. She is a dedicated and hardworking young lady. She attended Tennessee State University for two and later received her Associate of Science Degree in Education from Southwest Tennessee Community College in 2003 and also an member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Catina also received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Crichton College in 2004. In December 2008 she also earned her Master of Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Freed-Hardeman University. Beyond her formal education she worked for the IRS for 7 years. Catina has worked at Crump Elementary School as an Early Childhood Assistant Teacher and is currently a Substitute Teacher for the Memphis and Shelby County Schools.

 

She has committed herself to Hollywood, Raineshaven, and Crump Elementary Schools providing assistance in Math and Reading. She has shown exemplary leadership skills by being self-motivated and dependable when needed. One of her professional and personal goals is to own her own daycare facility. Her philosophy is that “all students should know that the purpose of learning is growth and our minds unlike our bodies can continue to grow as we continue to live”.
